π General Troubleshooting Steps
1. β Check Placement
Many tracking issues are caused by poor placement. Additional factors include connectivity and signal strength issues, often caused by obstacles like heavy materials or enclosed spaces that block GPS or cellular signals.
Best placement: Somewhere with a clear, unobstructed view of the sky.
Avoid: Inside a trunk, engine bay, or anywhere surrounded by metal.
Indoors: Place near a window for the best signal.
If hidden under a vehicleβs frame, place it as close to the edge as possible.
Environmental Interference: Note that dense buildings, garages, or heavily wooded areas can impact signal quality. Additionally, switching between cellular towers when in motion may cause brief disconnects.
2. π Verify the Device Is Powered On
Hold the SOS button until the device vibrates and the LED lights appear.
This indicates the device is powered on.
If no lights appear, the battery may be fully drained β proceed to the charging steps below.
3. π‘ Request a GPS Update
If the device is powered on but not reporting:
In the app, send the Request GPS Position command from the commands list.
Take the device outside and hold the SOS button until it vibrates and all LEDs appear to force a GPS report.
For better functionality, test the tracker in a moving vehicle to prompt quicker and more consistent updates. Slow or minimal movements may affect the update frequency.
4. π Send a Reboot Command
Open the Logistimatics app.
Select your tracker.
Go to Commands β New.
Choose Reboot remotely and send.
π Charging Issues
1. π No LEDs While Charging?
Press the SOS button:
If there are no LEDs and no red charging light, the battery may be fully depleted.
Note: It can take up to 5 minutes for the red charging light to appear when charging from 0%.
2. β Charging Checklist
Try a different wall outlet.
Use a different charging cable and/or power adapter (charging brick).
Check the charging port for dust or debris.
