What is Live Audio and how does it work?

Live Audio lets you call your tracker's phone number and listen to the surrounding audio in real time.

What is an SOS number and why does it matter?

An SOS number is a phone number you authorize to initiate live audio calls with your tracker. By registering your personal phone as an SOS number, you ensure secure and exclusive access to the live audio feature. You can authorize up to three SOS (CENTER) numbers per tracker.

How are Live Audio minutes calculated?

Minutes begin counting shortly after the call connects and are rounded up to the next full minute, similar to prepaid phone services.

Can I use Live Audio internationally?

No. The feature is currently available within the USA only.

Is there an unlimited Live Audio plan?

We currently do not offer an unlimited live audio plan. Live Audio minutes can be added as needed.

How do I buy more Live Audio minutes?

Purchase through the app:

Pull up your tracker's map
Go to the Info Tab
Scroll down to the bottom until you see the audio section and audio minutes balance
Tap "Buy More"
Follow the checkout process

What tracker models support Live Audio?

Live Audio is supported on the Mobile 200 and Car Charger tracker models. Check your product details or contact support if you're unsure whether your tracker supports this feature

How do I set up Live Audio on my tracker?

Step 1 — Purchase Audio Minutes

Step 2 — Set Your SOS Number

This is the most important step. Your personal phone number must be registered as the SOS number so the tracker knows to accept your call.

Open the Logistimatics app and select your tracker
Tap Commands → New Command → Set SOS Numbers
Enter your personal mobile number (the number you'll be calling from)
Tap Send and wait for confirmation in the command log

Step 3 — Find Your Tracker's Phone Number

Log in to your account and open the tracking map for your GPS unit. Navigate to the Info tab for the specific tracker — your device's phone number will be listed under the details in the Info tab.

Step 4 — Call Your Tracker

Once your SOS number is confirmed and you have minutes, call the phone number assigned to your tracker. You'll be connected and able to listen in.

My Live Audio isn't working — what should I check?

Work through this checklist:

Do you have audio minutes? Go to your device INFO tab on the app and confirm you have minutes available. If not, purchase them at https://my.logistimatics.com/live-audio-for-gps-trackers/
Is your SOS number set correctly? Make sure you entered your personal phone number, not the tracker's own number. A common mistake is setting the tracker's phone number as the SOS number — this will prevent calls from connecting.
Is the tracker online? The device must be active and connected to network coverage.
Is the tracker in motion? Live Audio requires the device to be moving. It will not connect while the tracker is stationary. Test it while the device is in a vehicle.
Are you calling from the registered SOS number? You must call from the same phone number set as the SOS number.
What if the tracker hangs up mid-call?
This could be due to an unauthorized SOS number, depleted audio minutes, or loss of network connection. Verify each of these before attempting another call.

Note: Once your calls end and your balance reaches zero, your SIM plan is adjusted to restrict phone calls. This is a preventive measure so you don't accrue large overage charges. When this happens, the Live Audio feature becomes accessible again within 24 hours after purchasing more minutes.

Best Practices for Audio Quality

What's the optimal placement for my tracker? Place battery-powered trackers close to the expected audio source, and ensure the device's microphone isn't obstructed by fabric, metal, or other dense materials.

Which tracker model offers the best audio quality? The Car Charger Tracker is known for superior audio quality thanks to its open placement within the vehicle cabin.
