One common feature found on the map is colored dots, which can represent a variety of different data points. Understanding what these colored dots mean is crucial for interpreting the tracking on the map and making informed decisions based on it. In this article, we will explore the different meanings of colored dots on your map.

For legacy users, be aware that the colors of the dots and their meaning have changed from the old version of the app. The colors of the dots on the map also vary between map and satellite view.

Map Options

When it comes to keeping a close eye on your trackers, understanding the map options available to you can greatly enhance your tracking experience and understanding the tracking information you see on the mobile app. Our platform offers two distinct map views: Standard and Satellite.

Standard View

This view provides a clear, straightforward representation of streets and locations, perfect for urban navigation.

Satellite View

The Satellite view offers a more detailed, bird's-eye view of the terrain, giving you a realistic perspective of the surroundings.

Whether you prefer the crisp clarity of the Standard view or the rich detail of the Satellite view, these options, coupled with our color-coded tracking dots, ensure you have all the information you need to monitor your trackers effectively.

Black/White Dots

These dots represent the locations where the tracker was traveling faster than 1 mph (black or white dots depending on Map/Satellite view).

  • Black Dots - Usually represents the location of the tracker on a standard map view.

  • White Dots - Typically represents the tracker’s location on a satellite view.

Red Dots

If you see red dots on your tracking map, it means the tracker thinks your vehicle or item hasn't moved much. Basically, it's either staying still, moving super slow (like less than walking speed) or hasn't changed its spot for more than half an hour. It's a quick way to see when things are parked or just hanging out in one place.

💡Tip

To quickly understand what's happening with your tracker at a glance, familiarize yourself with the meaning of each dot color on the map. This color-coding system is designed to give you instant insights into your tracker's movement and status, helping you make informed decisions without needing to delve into detailed reports. Keep a handy reference of the color meanings close by until you're comfortable with the visual cues.
