Steps for Battery Replacement

  1. Access the Device's Interior

    • Turn the Asset 432 upside down to reveal the four waterproof plugs.

    • Carefully remove these plugs using the pointed tool.

    • Unscrew the four screws beneath the plugs with a Phillips #2 screwdriver.

  2. Open the Device

    • Find the tab on the bottom right of the device's casing.

    • Use the flat prying tool to gently lift the tab and separate the front plate, exposing the interior and printed circuit board (PCB).

  3. Power Off the Device

    • Switch the device off by flipping the on/off switch inside.

  4. Remove the PCB

    • Unscrew the four screws holding the printed circuit board (PCB) in place with a Phillips #0 or #00 screwdriver.

    • Carefully lift the PCB out, taking care not to damage the connected wires.

  5. Remove the Battery

    • Detach the battery from the board.

    • If stuck with adhesive, gently pry the battery off.

  6. Install the New Battery

    • Place the new battery in the same location, pressing into the adhesive.

    • Reattach the battery wires to the PCB securely.

    • Re-screw the PCB into place and ensure the device is sealed with the screws and waterproof plugs.

  7. Reset the Battery Percentage

    • Log into your tracking platform and issue the "Reset Battery Indicator to 100%" command.

    • Allow up to 24 hours for the reset to take effect.

    • Keep the device powered on and in an area with strong signal reception.
